National Stress Awareness Day 2020: Resources to help manage stress during covid-19

Written by Zackary Roth

It has now been a little over a month since quarantine has begun due to the covid-19 pandemic. Since then, various companies and organizations have been providing free resources and content to help with stress and anxiety. For National Stress Awareness Day, we have compiled a list of websites are resources that can possibly help you manage stress.

Created by Reddit user garbargeman21, The Quarantine List is an ever-growing list of free resources at your fingertips that covers all categories ranging from entertainment (virtual museum tours, online performances, music & movie streaming, and online games), stress-relieving resources (activities, meditation, remote counseling, and therapy), and educational resources (recipes, language learning, certifications, and online courses). The creator of the website adds new resources pretty often, so we recommend checking this website often.

AADA has been on top with its resources for stress and anxiety during the quarantine. They have been regularly updating their covid-19 page with videos, blog posts, personal stories, and additional resources made by doctors to help manage covid-19 anxiety and stress. These resources deal with various topics such as “anxiety tips for families” and “how to protect your mental health during quarantine”.

While this is technically cheating because this app is already listed on My Quarantine List, I will allow this exception because the Headspace App is an amazing app for meditation and relaxation. While this is a freemium app, they provide a great selection of mediations for free. Plus they are offering a free new playlist called Weathering the Storm. It includes meditations, sleep, and movement exercises. If you are interested in checking out this app, you can download it in the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
